Go Kuduremukh

At last it was friday. We were waiting eagerly for it. We had planned to go for a Team outing to Kuduremukh and nearby places. We strated from office at about 10PM in 2 buses. One of the buses could not reach our office on time because of the heacy traffic.
After the whole night journey we reached Kalasa, where we had booked a couple of hotels to accommodate around 60 people.

After yummy breakfast we started to a place called Hanuman gundi.

We had climb down thousands of steps to reach beneath the waterfalls. It was amazing falls. Spend a couple of hours there.

From there we started a place called Ganga moola, where in we had to trek for a couple of KM. We reached a kinda jungle where in a big structure of rocks were found. That was supposed to be the origin point of three rivers, Tunga, Bhadra and Netravati.

From there we led to a place caled Nature camp where in we had our lunch. It was amazing place. Very beautiful place. We had our lunch, played some games and spent some 3-4 hours there.

We were all tired like hell. We relaxed at camp fire at night. Had some team games. Enjoyed a lot. There was prize distribution and other ceremonies. Had dinner and slept off..

Sunday early morning we led to Hornad, to see Annapoorneshwari devi. It was very near from Kalasa. We were back at around 9. Had breakfast on a hilly place. Enjoyed a lot.
We checked out rooms after breakfast and started back towards bangalore. We visited Halebeedu. Near Halebeedu we had our lunch. Spent a lot of time at Halebeedu. Did some shopping etc. Started towards Bangalore.. Had dinner in some dhabha.. Reached office by modnight.

trnnnnnng trnnnnnnnnng .... it was my cell phone.. I picked up.. It was very sweet female voice, could not recognise though.
I was actually sitting on a stone bench on footpath of JC road. I had to paint my bike's number plate.
"who is this" I asked her.She was actually my colleague. She asked me whether I have seen her cell phone. Actually previous evening she had come to my place to listen to some music. She doubted whether she might have left it near my desk and I might have safely kept it somewhere. But I did not have any idea about it. So I tol I am not sure. She was almost like crying. She loved her cute phone very much.
Came back to office and visited her and told her she would defintely get it back. Bad thing is she had switched that off as battery was down.
Afternoon at around 3 she was ran out of office and back with her beloved phone. She came to me explained the whole story. Actually she had lost her phone in an Auto the previous evening. That Auto driver had seen that phone in morning and tried to reach her home number at her home town and informed that she had left in his Auto itself and then her parents had called her and told all these things. and she contacted him and he came back to office to give that phone back..
Great guy.. I am feeling very proud. Very happy as she got her beloved phone tooo.. Just wanted to share it with you guys.

At last it was time.. I got the vehicle today. Silver colour. 150CC. Very nice to ride.. Feeling great!!

The modern Ramayan

Got a call from manager and was told that I have an exciting assigment. I knew those languages so I was not excited from those so called mouth watering words. I asked what was that. It was all about a skit to be performed at the "All hands meet", the department get together.

We had a team of 6-7 guys and ahd around 10 days time to prepare. We decided to do a skit called The Modern Ramayana. All roles were decided among us. Narration was mine. As there are no girls in my team .. Alas.. so sad :(( !!! one of guys had agreed to take Sita's role. All was going very good until Sita suddenly had to attend a training. We had almost dropped it. The director and Script writer was sitting as if the whole sky has fallen on him.. No wanted to step back.

Thats the time we called one of the co-ordinators to our practice room. We just asked whether he can perfomr any of the roles. He was so restraint. He told he can not come on stage. Then we just staged a practice one of us took Sita's role as double acting and performed. Seeying this our co-ordinator got a great enthu and confidence and told that he can be narrator. But who would become Sita now !

Ok.. I was kicked out of Narrator's role, I never had any problems in taking Sita's role. We performed really very well. All enjoyed like anything..

At last was the announcement for Best actor award.. I could not believe myself, I was awarded .. I mentally thanked the person who went for training...

Planning for a Trek to Waynadu in the month of Oct. Excited to see this kind of activities in our company for the first time in my three years of experience.

Back at home

After 6 months spending in Pardesha.. came back home last Sunday. Had jetlag till yesterday.
Feeling very happy being at home..

I had got a wonderful and pleasant reception from my family. My mom, sisters', BILs, kids have come to Airport to receive me. House was decorated by kids to receive their mama. I was actually embrassed. But felt very very happy..

Meaning: Hey Lakshmana, evethough Lanka is very cool place to stay, I dont like it as Mother and Mother Lands are more than Heaven ..

Folks.. so do I feel.. 6 months back arrived in the US for project work. Learnt a lot, got many new friends, experienced all the excitement.. but can not stay more.. Mother and Motherland is calling me back .. Flying back to Bangalore starting on 4th .. Very very excited to go back..

Driving on Freeway

It was an Unforgettable experience for me to drive for the forst time on US roads. Had been travelled to Dover, New Jersey from my place. It was around 150 mi.

All started when Kannada Audio members decided to meet at Oak Tree Rd, Edison for a Kannada movie called Poorva Para. I decided to hire a car this time, eventhough not driven much here in US. Was quite excited about it. It was a kind of Adventure for me. Here goes my list of preparations:

1. Went to DMV and took drivers manual and read all 12 chapters
2. Called Herts and booked the car
3. MapQuested all the routes and all possible permutation and combinations of return journey. I had plans to goto Phili also.
4. Called all the folks telling my arriving time and my schedule.
5. Took all friends' contact info.
6. Took my laptop, camera and some clothes.......

I was excited when I collected the keys from front desk and I drove a round to acquainted with it. Started from Endicott by 4:30PM towards Dover. When I reached first freeway I80 south I was actually horrified to see the speeds. I was driving at 50.. suddenly I could feel the speed.. everyone was forcing on freeway like anything. For about 5 min I was tensed.. But once I was into it, it was cool. I drove at around 65-70 mph. Its around 100-120 KMPH. Never had drven with such speeds. I could not feel anything. It was very normal. I reached Dover at 7:15PM without any problem..

Happy?? Independence Day

Supposed to me celebrated with great feel of satisfaction, but are we really done with the fight? Yes, politically we are free from invaders like Greeks, Moghals, French, Dutch and English but are we culturally, financially independent ? I dont feel so.

I can not see that ray of Cultural independence in Bhaarat. Still have that strong feel of inferiority complex. Still have that feeling that anything coming from outside is good and we don't have capacity to produce one. Is this because of Lack of confidence? May be ..

Midnight Aug 14, 1947, Bhaarat became independent. But can not forget the fact that we a new and cruel enemy got created on that particular day. How can anyone be so happy on a particular day on which he lost very important piece his belonging. This is an sadest irony for Bhaarat.

Let us hope we get Cultural and Financial independence in very short time period..

I remember one of the Samskrita Shloka regarding the pronunciation of words..

भीता पतन भॆदाभायाम् तद्वद्वर्णान् प्रयॊजयॆत् ॥


Meaning: Cat carees kittens by jaws. It should make sure of two things.

1. that kitty is not hurt by its sharp jaws
2. that it tightly grips kitty under her jaws so that kitty does not fall down

Author of this verse conveys that even pronunciation of words/letters should be taken care with such delicacy ..
