Bowling

It was shilpa's birthday yesterday.. Happy Birthday Shilpa.
We all had gone for bowling.. Yes to Amoeba. It was great fun ..
But ... sad think is out of 5 players ( Shilpa, Karthik, Sowmya, Yashu, Raju bhava) I scored least mammeee

More than anything even mom had come and even she bowled. Infact we forced her to bowl. She enjoyed :)...



Sowmya and I presented her a cute Chain and Ear ring. She liked it very much.

5deg above Mean Temp

According to WorldWeather.org Bangalore's average high temp for Feb is 29.6. But all the days of the last week has witnessed temp more than the avg. Yesterday it was 34deg celsius. Why ???

I can list some here:

1. Number of trees that have been cut for construction activities is more than 2000 last year.
2. Conversion of green belts to residential sites.
3. Almost ZERO agricultural land inside city
4. Closing of Lakes
5. Too much of traffic. No proper control.
6. High People inflow

Can you list some more ??

Been to one of my friends place. He has this balckie. Love to see the deep dead black skin :)

Cricket after soooo many years..

Man, it was wonderful... we left by 12. reached the play ground by 12:30 by bikes and cars. We were around 20 out of which 4 were enthusiastic girls. :)

It was bright hot day. Boys already started to practice catches and bowling.

Dinesh and others installed the wickets.

We took around 15 min to form 2 teams. Manoj and Rajesh took the initiative of becoming captains.

I was in the Fielding team and took the short midwicket positions.

Here am I


It was a 10 over match. I bowled 6th over and got a wicket. Other team was cheating in counting the runs :).. shame shame.. I remember how we used to fight if someone tries to manipulate the numbers. The term for manipulating number was 'Dubba'.

We took 7 wickets. I caught one down. By the end of 10th over they had scored 79. Good score right.. err.. good Dubba

Our game started. Phani alias Funny started very good innings. He scored well. around 10 and got out in 2nd over. It was 16. We were playing good game.

As we planned such that everyone has to bat.. some guys had to leave the crease even before they getting out. One of such victims was I. I went 5 down. First ball full toss hit to long off. It was four. heeeeyyyy!!!! Over ended. Had to change the strike. It was last ball of the over. Took 2 runs. So that I can play next over. Manoj was the bowler. Very good bowler. Could not take the first ball. He was perfectly bowling just in front of my feet. I decided to go for another full toss. I took it.. It was another four on the midwicket.. Captain Rajesh called me back.. Alas... my innings ended with 8 runs..

It was last over. We needed 5 runs to win the match. Ramesh and Machireddy were playing. Ramesh was on striking position. Took a run. Manoj was the bowler. Bowled wonderfully. Machi could not touch even a single ball. Stats was 2 balls, and 4 runs to win. Machi came fwd and swept the ball for a four. We WON ... Hurryey..

Then we came back to office. We were all hungry like pigs.. Pizzas from Pizza hut were waiting for us. All had pizzas and back to pavilion .. err I mean workplaces..

Team event

Today we are having Team Building activity. We go out to Srinivas Stadium- JP Nagar for a cricket match and from there we go for Lunch. Hope I am in the team and play good game.

My preparations for it:

1. Wearing White Shirt
2. Brought a cricket cap to protect me from Hot sun
3. Brought my cam to capture all events to blog 'em :-)

Do you guys remember I had taken an exam called CSQA.. ( Certified Software Quality Analisy) ?
I am very happy to say that I have cleared it..

Me and my manager were discussing about different kinds of job in IT and non-IT. His opinion was that women need not worry too much about their job, career and all. He was envious. Then asked whether he wanted to be a woman in next incarnation, if at all he has one.

You know what he preferred... ( controlling laugh ...)

He wants to be a Dog in richman's house. He tells as its rich man's house, he would get everything and also he would be pampered. I was laughing like hell...

Last Sunday (13-Feb):

At around 3PM I went to Goutham's house. We were planning to meet since long time. At last we could make it. I mean I could make it.

He showed all his albums.. My God.. he is really good Photographer. Very skilled..

Goutham has a Canon RebelTi Cam.. This is the same Cam our Sisya also has. But Goutham 300MM lens bought for it. :)

His fav place for shooting is his terrace. We spent around 2 Hrs for shooting birds. Lots of birds flew.. I was so immature that I could shoot not even one properly. One was kinda ok..

Today its a biggest loss to Educational field. We all lost one of the greatest educationalist, Dr. HN.
He was the President of National Education Society (NES) , which comprises of National Higher Primary School, National High School, National College and variuos branches.

He was one of the greatest personalities who had dedicated his complete life to one Goal.
He was one of the greatest personalities who used to live in 10x10 Hostel room for the entire lifetime with his students
He was one of the greatest personalities who din't have anything of his own, no family, no house, no car nothing
He was one of the greatest personalities who used to eat in Hostel mess like a simple student.
He was one of the greatest personalities who encouraged even 4th Std child to think scientifically
He was one of the greatest personalities who used to imbibe science into every drop of his blood
He was one of the greatest personalities who lived like a philosopher, being a science prof
He was one of the greatest personalities who followed Gandhian rules for the entire lifetime
He was one of the greatest personalities who wore only Khadi for the entire lifetime

He was Vice Chancellor of Bangalore Univ.
He challanged Sai Baba many times for his "Pawadas"
He used to walk everyday in Lalbagh
He used to listen to melodious Music.
He enjoyed our group song, One of his fav.s was " Baaro saadhana kErige, maraLi ninnee bhoomige", by Da. Ra. Bendre


I bow my head to him and touch his feet, for all the dedication, simplicity and achievement he has done for educational field.

Desire and Expectation

Hmm.. Welcome back to Bloggers world Karthik....
Uffffff it was really hectic week... Loads of work...


Some days back Sachin, a colleague of mine and I were having another tea-time dicussion. During ythe course of conversation he told "Expectation is root cause of Misery" and he related that to one of the Kannada saying --> " aaseyE dukhakke moola", which translates to " Desire is root cause of Misery " . Then started our actual debate..

Sachin says --> Desire and Expectations are same..
Karthik says--> No they are different, however they might be related..

Sachin thinks for a while and says --> hmm.. may be you are right..

Sachin tries to relate them --> When ever you have desire, you have some expectations..
Sachin relates them with another exmple --> Airplane and Its wings.. where Airplane is mapped to Desire and Baggage is to Expectation.

Karthik gives an example contradicting Sachin's statement--> My desire is to get married with Aishwarya Rai.. but I dont expect that to happen..

Sachin thinks again ang gives another Ex: --> Airplane and Baggage. Airplane is mapped to Desire and Baggage to Expectation.. Airplane can contain a Baggage but Baggage can exist without Airplane also.. So they are related in a very loose manner..

What do you think .. ??

Too much of work

From last 3-4 days I am busy like hell. Will be same for next 3-4 days :(

Yesterday I had gone for the Protest of Benny Hinn's program.. It was great misfortune that such an event occured in Bangalore :(

From 2 -3 days, I am sitting in an office very near to my house. Its around 2 KM from my house. I can reach office in 5 minutes on my bike. I go home for Lunch. I love to work from here ...

~ ^ * ^ ~ Tsunami relief efforts ~ ^ * ^ ~

One of my friends is going to Tsunami affected area called Nagapaatinam. I with some other friends collected 4 huge bags of cloths, blankets etc and contacted about 25 houses to prepare chapatis. We arranged for arround 500 - 600 Chapatis.

Had gone to Three Quarters, Chinese for the team Lunch. It crowded like hell.. but food was good.

One of my colleagues, from chennai was in Chennai yesterday when Tsunami
hit Chennai beach. He said, he was in deep sleep when Monster hit the
coast, ( uff very bad... lazy boy.. sleeping till 7:30 ??? ). His mom felt
that she was going in hectic train in her dreams. (Aunty bad too ..
sleeping till 7:30 ?? hmm ). After a major wobbling she got up and woke
this guy up. Every one realized its an earth quake..... Oh my God.. run run
run ... All vacated the apartment complex towards the street. Stayed there
for 30 min then got back in. Then he said, he went near Marina beach to see
the tragedy.. Many people are missing... I am feeling vey bad :(

Let me try to comment on october, which is supposed to be 10th month of the year.

Septa, meaning 7 ( derived from sanskrit Sapta), So September means 7th month
Octa, meaning 8 ( derived from sanskrit Ashta),So October means 8th month
Novem, meaning 9 ( derived from sanskrit Nava)So November means 9th month
Deca, meaning 10 ( derived from sanskrit Dasha)So December means 10th month

Having this logic continued Jan and Feb will be 11th and 12th month respectively. This means March will be First month. But somehow, in the history, this convention of starting the year from March has been changed to Jan. Actually Indian Calendar starts from around Mid March. Also even today Financial Year in India starts from March.

Trip to Hyderabad

It was 4 when I left to SA2 ( IBM's office ) to meet Sridhar. We had to leave for Hyderabad that evening by flight IC915 at 5:10 PM. The purpose was interviews.

We flew and reached Hyderabad at 6:15. Then we went to Hussain sagar and necklace road. It was really good.

From there I went to Hotel Fortune Katriya and Sridhar went home.

Next day: It was interview day. Had executive breakfast buffet.. It all started by 9:30 and ended by 6. Then we all went to Charminar by auto for shopping.

Did some shopping went back to hotel, checked out and went to Sridhar's place.


Next day: Trip to Ramoji Film city.. We booked a ambassador car. Sridhar, his sister and I started to Ramoji by 9 and reached there by 10. We took a executive package and had very nice time there. Came back home by 4PM

Ufffff ... its all over..

I took an a certification exam.. It's CSQA ( Certified Software Quality Analysist) conducted by QAI (Quality Assurance Institute). It was a tough exam. It required me to sit and study a 300 page book called CBOK. I had taken a week's vacation for the exam. Exam contained 4 papers, 2 objectives and 2 subjective papers. 3 papers were easy. The last one was little tough. Somehow I finished it.. :))

ಕೋಣೆಯೊಳಗಿ ಚಾಪೆ ಹಾಸಿ ಯೋಗಕೆಂದು ಸಿದ್ಧನಾಗಿ
ಕೋಣೆ ಕದವ ಮುಂದೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಶುರು ಮಾಡಿದ ಗಂಡನು
ಅರ್ಧ ಗಂಟೆ ಬಳಿಕ ಸುತನು ಕದದ ಸಂದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಣುಕಿ
ಗೊರಕೆ ಕೇಳಿ ಒಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಪ್ಪಗೆ ಹೀಗೆಂದನು

ಅಪ್ಪ ಅಪ್ಪ ಏನು ಮಾಡುತಿರುವೆ ಚಾಪೆ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಲಗಿ
ಇದರ ಹೆಸರು ಶವಾಸನವು ನಿನಗೆ ಅರ್ಥವಾಗದೆಂದು
ಇಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲೆ ಮಡದಿ ತಂದ ತಟ್ಟೆ ತುಂಬ ದೋಸೆ ತಿಂದ
