You don't have to know to feel it ..

I was listening to Swami Sukhabodhaananda's speech on Bhagavadgeeta. More than the content I caught a very curious concept Swamiji was trying to explain. I just wanted to share the same. He was reading a verse from Geeta and asked listeners to enjoy it, even though they did not understand it. He started explaining the concept that one can enjoy/feel anything even if he/she does not understand it. He started giving some examples as below:

No need to know Sanskrit to feel Bhagavdgeeta.

No need to know the dynamics of Fan to feel cool breeze..

No need to know technology of Television to enjoy a TV program

No need to understand complexity of "LIFE" to live it

Last but not least.....

No Need to understand your wife to live with her and enjoy journey of life with her.

Women feel things... Men try to know it/ understand them.

So swami suggested all women to start understanding men and suggested all men to feel women's feeling instead of trying to understand them.

What a concept yaa.... your comment please yaa..

Simple and lovely.

From my school days, I've been listening to Tamil and English songs which I could not understand at all. Nevertheless, I enjoyed them. The same with many of the movies.

On Life itself, this is a good piece of learning to deal with 'road-blocks' and just go with the flow. Sooner or later, we will find a way.

For me, feeling and understanding are two faces of a same coin. I think one needs to understand to feel it.
In other words, feeling is a sensation caused in the brain by a chemical reaction. This reaction needs a stimulus, for most of the things, for lesser mortals like me, the stimuli is the understanding.
Now, if I read your examples(fan, tv etc.), everything has got a different stimulus.
But to feel Bhagavadgeeta, Life without knowing, I guess needs a divine cognizance.

Shashi. You left example of wife. Modlu madve maadko, then u will understand - understanding is not needed to feel it. and you also feel that feeling is better and enough and understanding is a burden :)

Differences between Feeling and Understanding: (Just for Fun)

If you feel Bhagavadgeeta, You will become a Good Person
If you Understand Bhagavadgeeta, You will become 'SANYASI' and eligible to open an ASHRAM

If you feel Television, You will become CRUEL. See HERO / HEROINE in any soap.
If you Understand Television, You will become a Good Mechanic

If you are able to Feel things like WIFE, You will become MAD
If you are able to Understand, ????????????? (No one has ever understood).

hey Karthik,

Too good a concept...I think its the first time a person has put forth this..and thnx for sharing it..
They always say its difficult to understand a woman...if only all men practise this...then Earth will be a heaven ;)
